Surprise is a brief and instinctive emotion that follows an unexpected event! It is a neutral emotion, and only later does it become "positive" or "negative," paving the way for a second emotion such as fear, joy, or anger.
What is the difference between fear and surprise? Pipouette helps children understand the distinction. By showing the face of fear next to the face of surprise, your child will quickly spot the differences on the faces and also notice all the bodily sensations associated with the emotion. And in different situations too: when someone taps Pipouette on the back, he is surprised. When a dog chases Pipouette, he is afraid.
The face adheres to the companion of emotions using a velcro patch (the companion of emotions is not included with the face).
